"WELLING COURT MURAL PROJECT"

This weekend I was fortunate to attend the third annual Welling Court Mural Project in Astoria Queens.  It was a gorgeousSaturday afternoon, hints of aerosol wafted on the breeze, and over 50 artists were spread out over a several block area bordered by a community garden and a culturally diverse neighborhood. The project evolved when community leaders who were interested in finding a way to beautify the area were
introduced to the Ad Hoc Gallery, formerly in Bushwick.  The gallery represents a top tier roster of national and international street artists. The resulting blend of outstanding street
art and a supportive community has resulted in one of the most dynamic collections of
this art form in the city today.

NYC "POSTER PENTIMENTO"

I've always been fascinated by image subjects that resonate in some way with the passage of time, whether that be weathered textures of old walls or the peeling paper textures of urban poster pentimento.
